Northern Peninsula Big Game Outfitters offers an all inclusive package that will give the big game hunter the ultimate hunting experience.

I, Leonard Payne, have owned and operated my company, Portland Creek Outfitters, for seventeen years; and, I am a well established operator in the outfitting industry. My new venture will be Woody Lake Project. There will be two partners, myself and Paulette Wentzell, who have also been involved in the tourism industry for over twenty years.

There are a number of important factors that will make this operation a definite success and gain a positive reputation in the future.

Location! Location! Location! The Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland is well known as the place to go when it comes to Big Game Hunting. With the highest population density of moose anywhere in North America, the success rate and chance of obtaining a trophy animal is extremely high.

The lodge is located in a remote area with fly in access only. This area is not accessible by the average individual. Very few people can or will charter an aircraft in order to obtain a moose.

Another factor in the success of the business will be the personal touch.  There will be a presence at trade shows to promote the operation. Also, when the client arrives for his/her hunt, there will be communication at all times with the client until he/she is flown to camp. At that time, the client will be in the care of qualified guides and an exceptional cook. The goal is for the client to have a safe, successful hunt and a “home away home” experience. With this in mind, the client will indeed be inclined to do book a return hunt.

While many operations have to depend on outside contractors to do their flying, the advantage for this operation is that we have our own air transportation.  We can ensure that the clients get to their hunting destination without having to wait on an outside flying contractor to get them there.
